Creative and cheerful workshop “Skillful hands”

This Sunday we had the last session of our workshop “Skillful Hands” and it took a lot of preparation for the proposed activity. Good luck to reliable helpers like Daria and George who spent hours helping mother Raluca draw, cut and share all the necessary materials!

The children participating in the workshop were, as always, tall and wonderful! They came dressed in our school T-shirts or yellow, said the prayer together with Father Ioan and the other coordinators and volunteers (moms and dads involved), listened to the instructions given by Raluca and Georgiana and then worked with great enthusiasm to create some wonderful pots with colorful flowers!

We were impressed many times when we saw them help their little brothers and share their materials fraternally! In the end, I rewarded them with some juice and candy to thank them for their presence and effort!

We are a little sad that our workshop is over, but we have dozens and dozens of creative ideas for other activities in the future and we will keep planning until the next workshop session!
Thank you, our wonderful children and dear parents, to always remain so curious and creative and smiling!

For children and adults, our favourite activity is to talk, draw, read and write in Romanian about Romania! Today, Georgiana Velica and Raluca Georgiana Berhiu prepared for us a very beautiful surprise: all children identified on the map the place of birth of their parents and grandparents and, in some cases, their own place of birth! Look how much joy each child showed us on the map, the place in Romania where everyone belongs! Thank you to all the volunteers who made today’s work possible!

And the three strongmen, Cristian, Daniel and David, with big smiles, told us that they came to help those in the pew sing the Holy Liturgy! Thank you, kids; it was great to have you by our side!
The project “Hi! Come and get to know Romania together!” is carried out with the support of the Department for Romanians Abroad and in collaboration with “Meeting of our Lord” Parish – Glasgow and the “Fanus Neagu” School in Braila. The next activity is Sunday, when children are expected to have a new lesson about saints!

What a beautiful afternoon! The first session of the creative and good cheer workshop, “Skillful hands”, was exactly what the guides promised: the children created wonderful things and it was an atmosphere full of good cheer! They all worked wonderfully under the guidance of Georgiana Velica and Raluca Georgiana Berhiu, who waited for the children with tables full of goodies! Thank you to all the mums for their involvement! Thank you to the ”Meeting of our Lord”- Glasgow for hosting! We can’t wait, big and small, for the next session!
